Biography

Dr Jeremy Isaacs graduated from Cambridge University with first class honours and from University College London with distinctions in Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics & Gynaecology.  After general medical training in London he was awarded an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship to perform neurosciences research at UCL.  This led to a PhD on Creutzfeldt Jakob disease (a rare form of dementia) and several publications.  He then undertook higher training in Neurology, rotating though Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre, King’s College Hospital, the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery and St Thomas’ Hospital.  He was appointed as Consultant Neurologist to Kingston and St George’s Hospitals in 2010.

 

Dr Isaacs has extensive experience in a range of neurological problems including headache, balance and co-ordination problems and limb symptoms such as numbness, tingling or weakness.  He has a specialist interest in memory and other cognitive disorders.  He has developed a multi-disciplinary cognitive neurology service at St George’s Hospital, where he is dementia clinical lead.  He is honorary senior lecturer at St George’s University of London where he is involved in undergraduate medical education and research into the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
