Mr Nick Jacobs trained at Charing Cross, Westminster, and Moorfields Eye Hospitals and was formerly Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Kingston Royal Eye Unit.
As well as being a part-time National Health Service Consultant he is the lead ophthalmologist for The Practice, where he manages several ophthalmologists involved in community practice and cataract surgery. He has published many peer journal articles on topics including visual field, ocular ischaemia and neovascularisation, solar retinopathy, orbital injury and corneal graft.
He has designed surgical instruments including the Jacobs Glaucoma Punch, the Jacobs Subtenon Local Anaesthetic Cannula, the Jacobs Cataract Hydro-Dissector, and the Jacobs Anterior Chamber chopper for cataract surgery.
He specialises in high volume cataract and glaucoma surgery.
