Colposcopy is an examination of the cervix (the neck of the womb) using a specially designed microscope (colposcope).
It is a quick and simple outpatient procedure which involves inserting a speculum for an internal examination and is designed to detect pre-cancerous changes of the cervix, most commonly following an abnormal smear test result.
The clinic is led by our expert team of Consultant Gynaecologists who perform the colposcopy and take a smear or biopsy to be sent to the laboratory for testing.
